CHALLENGE MET
Created space for a four-fold expansion in brewing with no interruption to operations or patrons

When one of the key players in Maine’s craft beer boom needed to grow, they tapped the Freeport neighbor who could help them keep up with their thirsty patrons’ demand. Zachau was delighted to help Maine Beer Company with the expansion that will quadruple their output of award-winning brews. The two-story, 35,000 square foot addition included areas for brewing, bottling, and storage, as well as the creation of staff offices and an employee break room. Expansion of the company’s existing tasting room and retail store were also done to support growing traffic in both. Other enhancements included the addition of 100 new parking spaces and an outdoor seating area designed to accommodate a food truck. The successful project is one Zachau’s staff intends to celebrate often, with toasts to the local partners who continue to contribute to the beer fame of Maine.
