CHALLENGE MET
Built the expanded facility that could meet the modern needs of a critical cornerstone of public safety

New regulations and old space problems inspired New Gloucester to seek the partner that could help them build the modern fire station that could protect their town. That search began with a survey of four other nearby stations to ensure that the work done could meet the superior standards the town set after its comprehensive facilities review. Zachau was selected to oversee construction on a 25-acre site large enough to support much more than the bigger trucks and staff needed to meet the town’s needs. Expanded vehicle bays, administration rooms, and training areas were just some of the additions required to aid the work of the 45-person department. The final 10-bay, 15,000 square foot station met those needs and more after being brought in on time and meeting its $2.3 million budget. Zachau was grateful for the chance to help build a structure that could help secure the safety of the community it serves.
