SHOP FOREMAN

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB:

• Provide maintenance to Zachau owned equipment o Lulls/Telehandlers 

  • Mini Excavator 

  • Ground Heaters w/ diesel generator 

  • Snowblowers 

  • Multiple flatbed trailers 

  • Forklift 

  • Tractor 

  • Lawnmowers 

  • General tools

• Maintenance required by this position on above equipment:

  • Regular greasing of equipment 

  • Oil changes (hydraulic, engine, transmission etc) 

  • General problem solving/diagnosing repairs as needed 

  • Coordinating more extensive maintenance with 3rd party vendors 

• Shop:

  • Maintain cleanliness of shop space 

  • Organization of tools/inventory of ZCI owned equipment 

  • Maintain organization of yard where equipment/materials are stored 

  • Move/deliver/pickup ZCI owned equipment using ZCI 1-ton and flatbed trailer 

• Yardwork: o Snow blow walkways around office in winter and spread salt/sand 

  • Mow lawn around office as required 

• Miscellaneous Tasks:

  • Misc. jobsite deliveries/pickups 

  • Assist on construction project in times if shop work is slow (could include general labor/basic carpentry work) 

• Load, unload and identify materials, machinery and tools 

• Store and stack material 

• Communicate and provide assistance to fellow employees 

• Work independently with appropriate judgment 

• Must be able to meet all of the physical and mental requirements associated with this position including physical labor and managing stress. 

• Report to work on a regular and timely basis and complete the scheduled workday on a consistent basis  

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Ability to lift and lower objects up to 50lbs 

• Ability to work with minimal supervision 

• Good attention to detail 

• Acceptable attendance record 

• Acceptable performance evaluations 

• OSHA 10 Certification (will provide training) 

• Must have active Maine driver’s license and reliable transportation
