Maine Standards makes products that verify the accuracy of medical testing. The technical challenges met by creating their state-of-the art medical laboratory were matched by meeting the sustainable building standards needed to achieve the new building’s LEED Silver standing. Other specific requirements were also fulfilled to realize the building’s eligibility for tax credits available within the Pine Tree Development Zone. An aggressive schedule moved work at a fast pace while maintaining Zachau’s strict standards for quality and safety. Coordinated workflows transferred equipment, inventory, and staff quickly from the old building to Maine Standards’ new corporate home. The project was brought in on time and on budget, with absolutely no interruption of Maine Standards’ service to its customers. LEED Silver status and Pine Tree tax credits were both awarded, as planned.
